NEW CLASS ZUMBA



Zumba is a new dance fitness class held on Tuesday at 8pm and Saturday 10.30am, join in the fun, and why not stay for a drink or two in the bar.

New classes and courses

Mind body and spirit are launching new courses -

Postnatal mum and baby pilates and yoga. Thursday 11am a 6 week courses
Mini Yogies yoga for 3 to 7 yrs. Monday after school 6 week courses.

We are also working on our new website, which you can download leaflets and information on all classes, costs and waiting lists.Plus news and events, and charity classes. Also in a few months you will be able to book classes and appointments online with products and gifts.

All classes are now at the Rugby Club Shaw Lane Barnsley. The new studio is located within the main building and opened on Monday 20th April 2009, We have a few new classes, and don't forgot one to ones weekdays and weekends.

Pilates Intermediates

The following are photos of the pilates intermediate fliming day, showing the 100 and the roll up with passing the ball.






Most students spend around 6-8 months at a beginners level, then moving onto an intermediate level, there are 3 or 4 people in these photos whom are ready to begin the Advanced practices.

Monday & Wednesdays Hatha Yoga class Photographs

New photos Here are a few photo's from Wednesday class. We have Hatha Yoga on Monday and Wednesday at 7.30pm also Ashtanga Yoga on Thursday at 6pm Phil in the crane posture. Wednesday is a full class, every week has more exciting postures to learn. Stretching is very important throughout the class. A full Camel as shown by Claire in front. A half Camel. The Downward Dog Posture. Claire flexibilty is shown well.

My name is Michelle Griffiths I have been a yogie since I was around five years old, adding pilates in my early teens, I turned to these two practice's as I was always in pain from a young child born with twisted bones after spending five years in and out of hospital leaving me in spinal and joint pain, yoga and pilates together worked so well by the time I was twenty I was pain free with correct posture.
Qualified with the British Wheel of Yoga and Pilates Level 3 including Sports & Remedial massage and nutrition with REPS. Also a mobility and rehabilitation specialist.
I teach groups from beginners to advanced in Hatha yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, and pilates all levels, including private and small goups in MS, Cancer and rehabilitation. Plus one to one in fitness and life style changes. At MBS we have clases to suit all from Yoga to Boxing.!

Class Description

Pilates – Develops body awareness, improving & changing the body’s posture and alignment increasing flexibility and strength.

Hatha Yoga – Stretching & flexing the body in many postures developing breath awareness, and relaxation.

Core Stability – Using Balls, Bands & weights to tone and condition the whole body, “Tone without the Moan”

Ashtanga Yoga – Energize the mind and body, flowing between postures and breath, conditioning from within, Intermediate level.

Relaxation / Meditation –De-stress and take time out and relax, excellent for inner calm.

Mind Body & Spirit – A combination of Tai Chi, Yoga, Pilates and relaxation, a total well-being class.

Private Training - cardio, swimming, as well as field training and strength, weight loss, and toning the whole body
